So, my manuscript went to the publisher yesterday. It will be published by Springer, an eminent publisher of scientific, historical and other books, including textbooks and reference books, based in Germany and Switzerland. It will be available in hard cover and as an e-book that can be bought from Springer-authorized sources. I will provide more information about this later.
It has taken about a year. The most difficult part was getting permission from various sources to allow including photos and other illustrations, but that is finally done.
Endorsements (otherwise known as “blurbs) will appear on the back cover, contributed a distinguished group including the CEO of ACS, Exec. Dir. of AIChE, ex CEO of Dow, Editor in Chief of Chem Week and the ex head of BASF’s Petrochemical Division. This should help in marketing a book that may or may not have appeal to a broad audience. After all, the title subhead is “How chemical engineers created the petrochemical industry’.
Wish me luck!
